Great News… for those lucky enough to have a High Definition Media Centre, PVR or Mac TV Tuner device, IceTV’s EPG now includes NineHD data for all IceTV users to start enjoying!!!

Our Guide & Editorial Team have been working hard to add listings for Nine’s new High Definition channel as part of the IceTV Guide service and are pleased to announce that “as of this Thursday (24/4/08)”, detailed information on HD content specific to NineHD will be included for all major metro areas, with regional to be added shortly. We thank all IceTV users for remaining patient during this time.

Nine have so far been utilising their new NineHD channel to broadcast shows like Nightline (earlier addition), along with new series including; “The War at Home”, “E-Ring”, “Related” & Stephen Spielberg’s Sci-Fi drama “Taken” as well as often replaying the “Midday Movie” in high definition in the early hours of the morning.

Download the latest IceTV Guide for your device and start enjoying all the great features IceTV has to offer with the new NineHD channel from as early as this Thrusday, such as the all new IceTV Widget & IceTV Remote (online remote recording).

Please Note: While producing our own IceTV Guide listings for NineHD we noticed that there is still a vast amount of content being simultaneously broadcasted on both Nine’s regular Standard Definition & new High Definition Channel with the bulk of true HD TV Shows being aired in the evening periods (usually after 10pm). We also noticed that some programs are beginning ahead of the scheduled time (for example 2 minutes before the hour), so we recommend that all IceTV Users use both pre-padding & post-padding when setting up recordings if they want to help guarantee that they get the entire program. We believe this is because there is still a lack of ‘fillers’ such as TV commercials or advertisements available for the HD channel in the early stages, but as the Network broadcasts more HD content this will soon settle down and become less of an issue.

For Regional customers, NineHD content will soon be made available within the IceTV Guide data for your region as it remains unclear whether your local TV Networks are broadcasting the HD content at this point in time. Please let us know your observations and availability of the NineHD service in your regional area by contacting us and we will look into the situation for you as quickly as possible.

Once again, on behalf of the IceTV Team we thank you all for your patience and for your continued support.

We will now get back to inventing new & exciting features and services which significantly enhance the functionality of your ‘ice-compatible’ digital recording devices… giving you greater control and an even greater TV viewing experience.

If you have any questions regarding the new NineHD Guide listings within the IceTV Guide or this Service Announcement please pass them onto us via the Contact Us page of our website.

Regards,

IceTV Team
