EyeTV 2.4 released

April 19th, 2007

Elgato have just released version 2.4 of their EyeTV software (download link). The new version adds support for AppleTV, Spotlight, better support for multiple screens and also includes several bug fixes.

AppleTV support

EyeTV 2.4 can now export to AppleTV the same ways it can export to an iPod—by clicking one button in the toolbar after you’ve recorded, or via the “Export” menu in the Schedules list.

Spotlight support

EyeTV 2.4 includes a Spotlight plugin, which allows you to search your recorded TV library from OS X’s Spotlight menu. If you’ve upgraded from an older version of EyeTV, then you may have to follow these instructions to active it:

Previous versions of EyeTV set the following locations to not be indexed by Spotlight.

EyeTV (in Application Support)
EyeTV Archive

If you are having problems searching for EyeTV recordings once EyeTV 2.4 has been installed and run, you may need to remove those blocks from the Spotlight Preferences > Privacy.

For more information on EyeTV and Spotlight, please read Elgato’s support doument:
